Length Meter Counter Operating Principle

Contact and Rolling: A measuring wheel (caterpillar wheel) with a precisely known circumference is pressed against the cable surface with a specific amount of pressure.

Synchronized Rotation: As the cable moves, it drives the measuring wheel to rotate in sync, with no (or negligible) slippage between them.

Counting and Conversion: The axle of the measuring wheel is connected to a high-precision encoder or a mechanical counter. For each full rotation of the wheel, the counter records a fixed number of pulses.
