Live from the Wire & Tube 2026 (International Wire & Cable Exhibition + International Pipe Exhibition) in Germany: How does QIPANG diameter gauge help achieve micron-level quality control for cables and tube?
April 13-17, 2026. The highly anticipated Wire & Tube 2026 (International Wire & Cable Exhibition + International Pipe Exhibition Exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany, has successfully concluded. As a professional provider of wire diameter measurement and control solutions, QIPANG showcased its full range of high-precision diameter gauges at booth 14D30-2. During the exhibition, we engaged in in-depth exchanges with hundreds of industry colleagues from around the world, jointly exploring the intelligent and high-precision future of cable manufacturing.
How was the exhibition?
This exhibition brought together the world’s leading cable manufacturers and equipment suppliers. The sales and technical team of Shanghai Qipang Industrial Co., Ltd. provided detailed explanations of the product’s technical specifications to visiting customers throughout the event, creating a lively atmosphere.
What equipment did we showcase at the exhibition?
At this exhibition, we primarily showcased three core small-scale devices—a diameter gauge, rolling ring drive, and a straightener—demonstrating them live on-site, attracting numerous cable manufacturers from Europe and the Middle East to stop and exchange ideas.
The three devices demonstrated on-site were:
Laser Diameter Gauge: Online non-contact outer diameter measurement with an accuracy of ±0.002mm. It connects to a display screen in real-time, allowing visitors to manually pull the cable and observe the instantaneous response of the measurement data. Several customers expressed that this was the ideal tool for solving their outer diameter fluctuation problems.
Straightener: A five-wheel precision adjustable structure effectively eliminates residual stress in the cable. A live demonstration showed the difference between inlet bending and outlet straightening within a 1-3mm cable diameter range, leaving customers impressed by the straightness of the straightened cable.
Rolling Ring Drive: The cable pitch can be adjusted according to different spool widths, and also according to different wire diameters.。
Although the take-up and pay-off machines were not exhibited with the prototypes, we still possess complete design and manufacturing capabilities: Pay-off machines: constant tension active pay off machine /passive pay-out rack, customizable to meet different wire diameters, spool sizes, and production needs. We also support linkage between the take-up and pay-off machines and diameter gauges/straighteners to form a complete production line rewinding process.
Take-up machine: single-reel/double-reel/large-shaft take-up options available, automatic tension adjustment, works with a wire guide to achieve neat reel arrangement, avoiding wire tangling and compression.
Many customers initially focused on the single function of the diameter gauge or straightener when they visited our booth. However, after communication, we found that the real pain points often stemmed from the entire extrusion line—for example, unstable pay-off tension causing fluctuations in diameter gauge readings, or unsatisfactory straightening preventing neat winding by the wire guide.
Therefore, although we only showcased three small devices—the diameter gauge, rolling ring drive, and straightener—we conveyed the value to our customers: a complete set of auxiliary equipment matching capabilities from pay-off to take-up. On-site, we provided our clients with an “existing production line diagnostic” service—simply provide the wire diameter, wire speed, existing equipment brand, and the problem symptoms, and we can offer optimization suggestions, including the configuration of the pay-off/take-up machine.
